Purpose of the Organisation
- To encourage advancement in creativity, craft, and the quality of work in the fields of advertising, design, marketing, and related industries in Queensland.
- To promote, support, and assist with the professional development and education of its members.
- To organise and conduct an annual awards function for its members, with any awards given being judged to an impartial international standard.
- To acquire and disseminate information on subjects of interest to its members.
Management Committee Member
As a member of the BADC Management Committee, you will:
- Act in the best interests of the club and its members at all times.
- Uphold and promote the club’s mission and purpose.
- Participate actively in meetings, decision-making, and strategic planning.
- Help plan and deliver key initiatives such as the BADC Awards, events, and education programs.
- Maintain transparency, accountability, and professionalism in all club matters.
- Represent the club positively within the broader creative community.
- Collaborate respectfully with fellow committee members, judges, and stakeholders.
Integrity of the Awards
Trust and respect for the BADC Awards and its judging process is of utmost importance to the club and its members. As a committee member, you will:
- Help ensure the judging process is fair, impartial, and confidential.
- Avoid any attempt to influence judging outcomes or individual judges.
- Refrain from sharing sensitive information about entries, judges, scores, or deliberations.
- Disclose and appropriately manage any conflicts of interest relating to entries or judges.
- Respect the independence and authority of each judging panel and the Jury Chair.
- Safeguard the Awards’ reputation by upholding a high standard of conduct.
- Reinforce the credibility of the Awards as being judged to an impartial international standard.
President
As President, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership and uphold the mission, values, and reputation of the club.
- Chair Management Committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
- Serve as the club’s key public representative and spokesperson.
- Attend all major events, including the Awards night, member functions, and sponsor engagements.
- Speak on behalf of the club at public events and ceremonies as required.
- Participate in the awards process, including entry sorting and judging weekends.
- Work closely with committee members, especially on sponsorship and membership development.
- Oversee succession planning for the President role.
- Guide the planning and execution of the BADC Awards and other strategic initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and effective committee culture.
Secretary
As Secretary, you will:
- Maintain the club’s official records, including:
- Membership register
- Minutes of all meetings
- Formal correspondence and compliance documents
- Submit required updates to the Office of Fair Trading, such as:
- Committee changes
- Rule amendments
- Annual returns
- Schedule and document meetings accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure proper notification of meetings in accordance with BADC’s rules.
- Be at least 18 years old and reside in Queensland (or within 65 km of the border).
Treasurer
As Treasurer, you will:
- Manage the financial affairs of the club with accuracy and integrity.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date financial records.
- Prepare budgets and financial reports for the committee and members.
- Present the financial position at committee meetings and the AGM.
- Oversee income, expenditure, banking, and reconciliation.
- Ensure legal compliance with Queensland financial reporting requirements.
- Arrange for audit or verification of accounts when required.
- Provide financial guidance to support the club’s strategic decisions.
