In Australia, the rate of Sexually Transmissible Infections in young people (aged 15-29) is on the rise.
The Queensland Government identified that this increase coincided with decreasing knowledge of correct safe sex practices – and that almost half (48%) of young adults felt that current sexual health information is not relevant to them.
Produced as an extension of the ‘Stop the Rise of STI’s’ campaign, the ‘Clark has Chlamydia’ online video helped young people visualise how every hook up-can increase your risks of catching an STI – in a non-judgemental, sex-positive and memorable way.
Specifically written for social platforms, the combination of playful alliteration, simple animation and many an innuendo was an instant hit, with over 35,000 views and hundreds of comments, shares and ‘mates tagged’ on Facebook and Instagram.
