Each year, Airservices Australia draws attention to the work that their team do around the clock to keep Australian skies safe by creating a ’Santa’s Arrival’ video. In the past this has generally involved the hiring of a shopping mall Santa. The kids always love it, but it’s pretty cheesy for adults.
In line with Airservices Australia’s new more discerning brand positioning, we were determined to create some Christmas magic without resorting to the typical Christmas tropes. Instead we used lighting, audio and. in particular, music… to create theatre of the mind as a result of what we didn’t show!
The music brief was also to not be too ’christmas cliche’ whilst simultaneously needing to do the heavy lifting as the main deliverer of the Christmas narrative.
