Brill Coffee is a premium freeze-dried coffee (read ‘instant coffee’, but actually tasty) and a new entrant in the absurdly competitive Australian specialty coffee industry.

Our team of Branding and Creative Strategists were appointed to help this nimble start-up develop a brand name, identity and packaging range that would be sold direct to consumers via their Shopify site, plus through a wholesale network of specialty coffee shops down Australia’s eastern seaboard.

Brill launched with two single origin coffees and one blend – their Summer ‘19 Blend.

For the label design we imagined the colours of the Australian summer – vibrant sky blue, Surf Lifesaving red and yellow, and the green from Australia’s green and gold. These were also a nod to the origins of the coffee used: Kenyan (red), Ethipoian (green) and Columbian (blue). Which was consistent with our single origin designs.
