The visual design of the new Brisbane Powerhouse needed to find way to serve both the programmatic restrictions of the WordPress CMS platform such that the client could add new shows and frame them beautifully, as well as the highly functional imperatives of the UX design to allow people to both discover and book shows. More than this, though, it needed to represent and communicate all the vivacity and artistic spirit of the institution itself. We took visual cues from the distressed architecture of the space, but offset it against counterpoints with a clean and clear design language.
