A collection that nods to recent times and those that evoke nostalgia, “Mad Dangerous’ is a series of nine digital illustrations where each piece pays homage to all that’s scary and dangerous, whilst embracing the fear wholeheartedly.
This body of work was created exclusively for and in collaboration with a start-up tech hardware company (a passion project of the artist), thus a purpose-driven self-promotional exercise. The bright primary colours aims to disrupt the viewer’s instinctive or fearful reaction of the subject with a lightness due to the dynamic and joyful colour combinations. The colours are complimented with grainy textures to provide a three dimensional appearance, pulling the viewer into the work and simultaneously giving them ‘life’ and roundness.
‘Mad Dangerous’ focuses on a light humoristic approach of bright, happy characters who are smiling through the odds. Many of these situations we can relate to in reality or our imagination.
