Spencil makes back to school supplies for primary school kids. Their brand positioning is ”A Better, Kinder Awesome”, which manifests as a combination of giving parents what they want, and bringing kids joy.

Spencil MaDLOVE Notes were designed to let Mums and Dads be there for their kids during the school day, even though they physically couldn’t be.

We created a range of cards designed to make the parent’s message be the hero. We created different themes with different tones for different occasions, moods and emotional states, along an ’Overt to Covert Love Scale’. This gave parents the flexibility to ’read the room’ and tailor their ‘MaD Love’ note tone on a continuum between an all out “I love you” to a more understated ‘fistbump’ or a smile-inducing ‘fun fact’, ‘weird thought’ or ‘MaD joke’ (like a Christmas Cracker) their kids could share with their friends.
