Darrell Lea announced that its entire range is now 100% palm oil free with a bold new TVC, featuring an orangutan partying to the beat of George Michael’s Freedom! 1990.
Our creature specialists used motion capture to capture the drumming movements, and after many hours spent studying the movements and form of the real creature, they used extensive modelling, rigging and enhanced grooming to create the CG orangutan. A detailed final layer of hand animation brought the CG creature to life in a photo-real way, with intricate detail selling the concept to create one of this year’s most memorable ads.
