17 billion new drink containers are used by Australians each year (3 billion in Queensland). All of them can be recycled, but less than half actually are and most of it ends up in landfills. People aren’t all aware that with Containers For Change scheme and the right collection processes in place, drink containers can be collected, recycled and reused over and over again in lots of different products.
The Ekka (Royal Queensland Show) is an opportunity to reach 400,000 people face-to-face. Containers For Change created an activation to engage, surprise and educate visitors of all ages, converting awareness into action. We created Recycle Race, an equal parts addictive and educational mobile game to help people better understand which containers can be returned for cash.
