Imagine: which sight would you most value if it was the last thing you saw? We paired nine visually impaired people with influential artists who painted their last, dearly held visual memory.
Then, we partnered with the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art to launch Last Seen – an art exhibition to save sight. With the support and status of the award-winning artists and an extablished gallery, we auctioned the artwork to high net worth individuals, with the proceeds of auction as a key fundraising method.
To raise further awareness about the value of eyesight, we encouraged patrons to experience the exbition the same way our vison impaired participants would. Paintings had custom-made ‘sound-scapes’ allowing users to listen to the participants’ stories through headphones – experiencing the world as though they were blind.
These films were our hero assets used across news media, publicity and online video.
