After the success of previous Christmas cookie campaigns, we were approached to create an elf in Subway colours who could sprint, swing and jump Lara Croft style across the room. The directors’ vision for this campaign was to recreate the magic, joy and anticipation of the night before Christmas in a Toy Story-inspired adventure across the living room. Eve’s small size contributes to the epicness of her journey as her nimble, flexible legs and strong, sturdy arms give her the ability to flying-fox down a string of Christmas lights, leap over the giant family dog, clamber onto the mountainous sofa and bounce off a plush Santa’s head. She was designed to look slightly worn, like a favourite ornament purposefully placed at the front of the tree. The shoot was carefully planned to capture practical elements in camera to ensure the interactions between CG and live-action looked as real as possible.
