Challenge
Help Mercy Community combat Queensland’s shortage of foster carers by finding an honest, cliche-free take on foster care that elevates the role of carers in our community and compels others to get involved.
Insight
Even though the service they provide can be truly life-changing, fostering is often a thankless task. Which is just as well, because our research showed that carers don’t do it for recognition. They do it because they’re compelled to make a difference (even though, at the time, it might not feel like they are). Knowing that they’ve changed a child’s life – even in a small way, even if that knowledge doesn’t come ‘til much later – means everything.
Execution
The Thank You project is a campaign which celebrates carers and gives a voice to people whose lives have been changed by fostering, inviting them to share their stories and inspire others to take on the challenge.
