Charter Boat? What charter boat?

Rem is one of Queensland’s most respected advertising practitioners with over 20 years experience ranging from working with mum and dad businesses to advising and creating campaigns for the world’s biggest multinational brands.

From creating famous and much loved above the line campaigns to authoring innovative and more covert digital and other new media solutions, Rem has received the highest creative and effectiveness accolades possible in Brisbane across all communication disciplines with over 200 awards locally, nationally and internationally.

Campaigns created by Rem include Brisbane Marketing’s ‘Sleepy little town’, Conrad Treasury’s ‘Ever Surprising’ campaign and Brisbane City Council’s ‘I ♥ BNE’ sustainability campaign. But perhaps Rem is best known for authoring RACQ Insurance’s enduring ‘We’ll help you wherever we can’ campaign featuring the “Charter boat? What charter boat?” TVC which was voted in Australia’s top 10 commercials and has over 20 fan-created Facebook fan pages with over 30,000 likes (at time of writing).

A renowned creative and strategic thinker, Rem is also an accomplished presenter, talent director and educator.

He has guest lectured at Griffith University, Fairfax Digital Copy School, AFA Adschool, News Limited Advertising Award School and conducted workshops for the Australian Marketing Institute. He has appeared on ‘The Gruen Transfer’ and 612 ABC Radio’s “Hidden Persuaders’. Rem sits on Commercial Radio Australia’s ‘Sirens Council’ dedicated to excellence in radio advertising and has been an award judge for the New York Festivals mainstream, Innovative and effectiveness awards. He has also judged the BAD, CREAM, Golden Stylus, Sirens, ATV and Clio awards.

In 2012, Rem was inducted into the Brisbane Advertising and Design Club’s ‘Hall of Fame’.

Importantly, Rem can also balance drinks on the back of his head; and dogs like him.
