The 2019 BADC Lunch & Learn will feature Jonathan Kneebone, a founding partner of The Glue Society – an independent art and directing collective, working internationally in the UK, Europe, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
The Glue Society’s ground breaking work encompasses everything from the direction of experiential projects, online entertainment and commercials, to the creation of art exhibitions, public installations and site-specific sculpture.
In response to its pioneering work balancing art and commerce, Creativity Magazine defined the creative group as ‘the experts at things which haven’t been done before’. And a number of their projects have been singled out for praise by the likes of Time magazine, The New York Times & The Guardian.
Among its array of advertising awards from every international festival, The Glue Society counts a multitude of D&AD Yellow Pencils for both concept and craft, as well as a Cannes Titanium, four Grands Prix, and numerous Gold Lions.
Throughout its 21 year history, the collective has been recognised as one of the industry’s most creative companies, regularly appearing in the Gunn Report’s top 5 director rankings.
The Glue Society’s exhibitions include Miami Art Basel, Pulse New York, Art & About Sydney – as well as numerous shows across the USA, UK, Asia and South America, most recently in Santiago, Chile.
The Glue Society is currently developing an art and sculpture space in Tasmania on the Tasman Peninsula in conjunction with local architects, Room 11.
For experiential and installation project and commercial film direction, The Glue Society is represented by Biscuit in the UK & USA and by Revolver/Will O’Rourke in Australia & Asia.
Jonathan is currently a member of the D&AD Global Advisory Board and AWARD Committee, as well as a regular industry speaker and opinion-piece writer.
